The Matshwane Safari
This safari is named after the honey badger, called matshwane in Setswana. This creature is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most fearless animal in the world. It is reported to have a close relationship with honey guide birds, supposed to lead the badgers to bee hives, which the badger breaks into so that both animals can feast. More importantly, the honey badger is a highly mobile and independent carnivore, which is why Clint named his safaris after it.
The Matshwane Safari is a highly mobile, non-participation safari with your own private vehicle and professional guide, cook and/or assistant. For larger groups a second assistant will be provided. The same team will stay with you for the duration of the safari and will be responsible for all the camp duties, including erecting and dismantling the camp, cooking excellent bush cuisine and keeping you well entertained. The safari can be experienced from a vehicle or a boat. Either way, this is the perfect option if you want to relax and be spoiled during your trip. Families, homeymooners and private individuals are all welcome.
This Safari includes:
• Licensed and highly experienced professional guide.
• Great for families, honeymooners and private safaris.
• Tailor made and dependent on availability of camp sites
• Open game drive vehicles with shade roof, game viewing seats & long-range fuel tanks. Game drive vehicle pulls trailer with all camping equipment.
• Comfortable equipment - Walk-in tents (3 m bow tents) with built-in floors, mosquito gauze on door & windows. Full linen (1 pillow, pillow case, sheets, duvet, duvet cover, towel)
• En-suite Bathrooms – shower and bush loo
• Camp Assistant to do camp chores (staff will travel with guests in same vehicle)
• Private campsites, wherever possible. Park entry and camping fees
• All Meals & Drinks: wine, beer, G&T, cool drinks, bottled water – no other spirits
• All activities as specified by tour operator - usually two game drives per day
• Lodge accommodation can be worked into the itinerary at additional cost
This Safari excludes:
• International or charter flights, visas and airport departure taxes
• Any lodge accommodation, transfers and excursions not specified (e.g. boat trips)
• Travel, cancellation and medical insurance
• Extras, e.g. flash lights and batteries, plastic rain coats or umbrellas
• Personal toiletries: (soap, hand cream, mosquito repellent, sun block, mirror, tissues)
