Travel Tips
Clothing
Throughout the year, casual comfortable clothes can be worn – blouses, shirts, shorts or light skirts are best. Don’t wear white or brightly coloured clothes on safari as they can disturb the wildlife. However, please note that camouflage clothes are not permitted because they are reserved for use by the military so we recommend muted colours and khaki outfits. Sturdy walking shoes are essential and in winter remember that the nights are cold so pack jackets and jerseys; tracksuits are very useful for sleeping in.
Accessories
Sun block lotion, sunglasses, hats and insect repellent are essential, as are a good pair of binoculars and a camera.
Visa & Passport Requirements
All visitors must have a passport valid for a least six months, and the means to leave the country, i.e. an outgoing ticket and sufficient funds. Some nationals of Commonwealth countries require visas to enter Botswana, but most visitors will be given a one-month visa at the border. Please double check with your local travel agent for the latest visa requirements.
Commercial Banks
Four main commercial banks are represented in Botswana, namely Barclays Bank of Botswana, First National Bank, Stanbic and Standard Chartered Bank, as well as numerous foreign currency bureaus. There are no currency controls in Botswana and most hotels, lodges, travel agents and larger shops will accept international credit cards and travellers cheques.

Electricity
All of our vehicles are equipped with 12v-220v invertors for charging camera batteries.
The sockets on the invertors are for the standard southern African 3 prong round plugs.
Tipping
Tipping is welcomed in Botswana and in restaurants the usual 10% is acceptable as no service charge is levied. Guides and safari staff can be tipped at your own discretion according to the quality of their service.
